Aisling O’Donovan

Aisling is a Partner, practising as part of the firm’s Banking and Finance team. She advises several leading domestic and international banks, financial institutions and non-bank lenders in relation to bilateral and syndicated facilities. Aisling provides banking legal advice to some leading Irish corporates, property investors and developers. Aisling advises on a broad range of banking-related matters. She has particular expertise advising on the finance elements of investment and development real estate transactions. Antoinette Vahey

Antoinette is a Partner, practising as part of the Employment law team. She brings practical and strategic legal advice to clients in a range of areas such as wrongful and unfair dismissal; discrimination; absenteeism and work-related stress; performance management; temporary and contingent workers; collective redundancies; restrictive covenants and severance agreements. Antoinette represents clients on employment claims in the Workplace Relations Commission, Labour Court and High Court together with gender discrimination claims in the Circuit Court. Having qualified as a mediator with the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution in 2013 (specialising in employment and workplace disputes), Antoinette is focused on expanding RDJ’s independent mediation offering to provide the best solution to our clients. Ashling Walsh

Ashling leads the Insolvency and Corporate Restructuring Team, practising across the areas of corporate, commercial and insolvency. She uses her extensive knowledge of Irish company law to significant advantage in advising clients on both sale and acquisition sides of distressed companies. Ashling’s practice includes advising on all types of restructurings and insolvency law matters and has vast experience in advising insolvency practitioners, financial institutions, liquidators, examiners, receivers, debtors and distressed companies. She has many years of experience acting for financial institutions in the context of debt settlement arrangements and has advised in relation to a number of significant receiverships and liquidations. She also regularly advises on both examiners and petitioners with respect to the examinership regime. Brendan Cunningham

Brendan O’Connell

Brendan is a Partner, practising as part of the firms Dispute Resolution team. Brian Morrissey

Brian is a Partner, practising as part of the Dispute Resolution team. He has extensive experience in defence litigation, handling a diverse portfolio of cases primarily in the Circuit and High Court. Brian advises insurance companies and self-insured multinational companies in the area of personal injury litigation, product liability and material damage claims. He has extensive experience in defending high value major loss claims in the High Court, dealing with a wide range of expert witnesses based both in Ireland and the UK in defending these claims. Brian O’Halloran

Brian is a Partner, practising as part of the Real Estate Team. He has considerable experience advising clients on all aspects of property law. Brian Quinn

Cian Fenton

Cian is a Partner in RDJ’s Banking and Finance group. Damian Doyle

Damian is a Partner, practising as part of our Dispute Resolution team with a particular focus on Insurance defence work. He is a highly skilled and experienced litigator who advises on employer’s liability, public liability, motor, defamation and medical negligence actions for both insured and non insured bodies. Damian also assists the employment law team advising state bodies in relation to a wide variety of matters. Darryl Broderick

Darryl is the Head of RDJ’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution team and is also a member of the firm’s IP, Media, Insolvency and Corporate Restructuring teams. He has extensive experience in litigation and dispute resolution with a particular emphasis on financial services litigation, contentious media, technology and IP disputes, as well as acting for liquidators and receivers in insolvency related litigation. David McCarroll

David is a Partner in the firm’s Employment team. He advises a wide range of private sector med-tech and life science clients on contentious and non-contentious employment matters. David Phelan

David is a Partner in our Real Estate team. He has extensive experience in all aspects of real estate law and has a proven ability to deal with complex areas of practice. David built his experience across a range of real estate practice areas including development projects, investment acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant matters and real estate financing. David’s clients include developers of significant commercial and residential sites, as well as lenders and equity investors funding such development schemes. Diarmaid Gavin

Diarmaid is a Partner, practising across the area of Corporate and Commercial and leading our EU & Competition and Research Innovation and Technology practices. Donal Twomey

Donal is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution team. He has extensive experience of professional indemnity disputes and commercial litigation, including judicial reviews. In particular, he advises insurers in the Irish Professional Indemnity market in respect of claims brought against various professionals including solicitors, architects, engineers, accountants and tax advisors. Donal has experience of all court jurisdictions, including the Commercial Court. In addition, Donal has been involved with and advises on the various methods of alternative dispute resolution, including conciliation, mediation and arbitration, arising from both construction and non-construction related disputes. Eoin Tobin

Eoin is Head of RDJ’s Private Client Services practice. He is a qualified solicitor and Chartered Tax Advisor. Eoin works with individuals, families and business owners in the areas of succession planning, probate, and trusts. He also works with clients to develop and implement legal and tax plans that are uniquely tailored to their personal and financial goals. Eoin maintains a broad-based practice that covers all aspects of estate and individual planning, including wealth transfer strategies, multi-generational estate planning designs, and charitable giving. He works with different generational levels of many families, helping to develop and implement strategies for all stages in life. Eoin has lectured Advanced Direct Taxes for the Irish Tax Institute since 2012. He also co-authored the Irish Tax Institute Advanced Taxes Student Manual for a number of years. Fergal Dennehy

Fergal is head of the RDJ Healthcare Unit in the Munster area. He acts for both public health systems and private health systems instructed by both the State Claims Agency Clinical Indemnity Scheme and private insurers such as Allianz, Travelers Insurance Company (formerly St. Pauls) , Berkshire Hathaway representing both public and private hospitals from Wexford south to Cork and west to Limerick and all points in between. Finola McCarthy

Finola Heads RDJ’s procurement and construction teams. She has vast experience in all types of development, construction and engineering projects both public and private sector from initial procurement through to dispute resolution. Finola is experienced in all principal forms of contract used in design build, EPC, construction, infrastructure and energy projects such as FIDIC, RIAI, IEI, government public works and several bespoke forms. Finola has extensive experience in advising local authorities and other public bodies on all aspects of public procurement and administrative law issues. Gillian Keating

Gillian Keating leads RDJ’s Corporate and Commercial Department with over 25 years’ experience driving complex and high value M&A transactions. Gillian is ranked in Legal 500 and Chambers for her transaction and advisory work “a very strong practitioner, very good to deal with and very practical” Chambers 2022. Gillian is an Adjunct Professor in the College of Business and Law at University College Cork (UCC) and in 2017 received an Alumni Achievement Award from UCC. Gillian is a board member of Port of Cork Company and Chairs the Board of the South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital. Gillian is a co-founder of the highly successful and award winning I WISH (Inspiring Women in Stem) social enterprise. Imelda Tierney

Imelda is a Partner, practising as part of the Healthcare Litigation team. She advises clients on all forms of legal disputes with a current particular emphasis on medical malpractice actions on behalf of hospitals and healthcare professionals including regularly acting as the advocate for clinicians and hospitals at Inquests. Imelda has advised clients on all aspects of healthcare provision both contentious and non-contentious and was previously a member of a hospital ethics committee. She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in all courts including the commercial division of the High Court and frequently acts in the defence of high value and sensitive clinical negligence claims. Imelda is a CEDR accredited mediator and is a strong advocate of alternative dispute resolution. JP Gilmartin

Jamie Olden

Jennifer Cashman

Jennifer is Head of Employment and is also a member of the firm’s Healthcare and Cyber and Data Protection Teams. She is nationally regarded for her encyclopaedic knowledge of employment law and is the “go-to” advisor for corporate clients in both the public and private sectors. Jennifer's key clients include scaling and established Irish companies in a variety of sectors, multinational companies in the technology, pharmaceutical, medical devices and diagnostics sectors and public authorities. Her focus is on working closely with her clients to provide commercial legal advice and practical, commercial solutions for their business. Jennifer Noctor

As an experienced Litigation and Dispute Resolution practitioner Jennifer Noctor plays a key role in the department advising RDJ’s clients in the area of cyber security and data protection in addition to complex large loss commercial and technology based litigation. Jennifer is a member of the firm’s Cyber and Data Protection team and advises companies and state bodies on a broad range of data protection and privacy issues, including data protection litigation, regulatory investigations, data subjects’ rights, in particular advising and managing large data subject access requests. Jennifer is also part of the Security Incident Response Team and is responsible for assisting clients and advising them throughout the management and investigation of cyber security incidents. She leads and manages large scale data reviews and advises on notifications to the Data Protection Commission, Data Controllers and Data Subjects and how to minimise the impacts of a security incidents. Jennifer is a lead in the Education Team and has expertise advising educational bodies in relation to their implementation and compliance with data protection law. Jenny Foley

Jenny is a Partner practising in RDJ'S Healthcare Litigation team. She advises clients in the defence of medical negligence claims acting for both public and private hospitals, instructed by the State Claims Agency and private insurers. She specialises in managing high value and complex cerebral palsy birth claims and catastrophic injury claims and has represented several hospitals and clinicians in these claims advising on all matters including liability, quantum, interim payments, and the rate of return. Jenny also has extensive experience in the management of mass action medical litigation claims. She assisted in the management of the Cervical Check screening mass action during her time in the NTMA. In addition to these claims, she has managed several fast-track delayed diagnosis claims which were case managed by the High Court. She also represents state authorities and healthcare practitioners in the Superior Courts, and the Circuit Court. She also represents healthcare practitioners at Coroner’s Inquests. In non-contentious matters, Jenny has advised the Health Service Executive and healthcare practitioners in relation to indemnity cover and contracts, internal and external reviews, and data protection. John Cuddigan

John is Head of RDJ’s Tax Practice and specialises in the provision of corporate and business tax advice to corporates and individuals. He has advised on all aspects of Irish direct and indirect taxation for companies and individuals and has significant experience in the areas of corporate restructuring, property development and investment transactions and restructuring, remuneration strategies and tax structuring of businesses in Ireland. John also has extensive experience in taking of tax appeals before the Tax Appeal Commission and the High Court. John has lectured extensively and presented seminars on various tax matters for the Irish Tax Institute and the Law Society of Ireland and is the current Chairman of the Taxation Committee of Law Society of Ireland. He was co-author of the Institute publication on the Irish Finance Act (FINAK) from 2008 to 2014. John Dwyer

Lisa Mansfield

Lisa is a Partner, practising in the firm’s Dispute Resolution team, with a particular focus on professional indemnity litigation. She is involved in providing both companies and individuals with advice in all areas of inter-company disputes. Louise Boughton

Louise is part of the firm’s Dispute Resolution team, specialising in the area of defence litigation. She has extensive experience advising both public and private sector clients. Louise Smith

Louise is a Partner, practising as part of our Dispute Resolution team and heads up our specialised fraud unit. She has significant experience advising on motor, employers’ and public liability as well as indemnity claims for both insured and self-insured bodies. In addition to an extensive practice in general litigation (across all Court levels), Louise has designed and created strategic strategies for the prevention and detection of fraudulent claims for major Insurers and has a significant success rate in the defence of fraudulent and exaggerated claims. Margaret Ring

Margaret is a Partner, practising as part of our Real Estate team. She advises on all aspects of property law with a particular emphasis on the development, sale and purchase of commercial property projects throughout the country. Margaret is also recognised as one of the country’s leading lawyers in the commercial letting area. Her experience in this field includes work on the development, sale and purchase of commercial property projects throughout the country as well as advice to vendors, purchasers, developers, landlords and tenants of commercial property (investment and development), large and small. Marianne Lonergan

Marianne is a Partner, practising as part of the Dispute Resolution team. Michael Quinlan

Michael is a Partner, practising in the firm’s Dispute Resolution team. He specialises in dispute resolution and insolvency and corporate restructuring. Padraic Brennan

Padraic is a Partner, practising in the firm’s Dispute Resolution team with an emphasis on medical negligence defence litigation, healthcare law and administrative law. He has represented the (former) Western Health Board/Health Service Executive on healthcare, medico-legal/ethical, child protection, disability and special needs issues. Padraic also represented the interests of the (former) WHB at the Lindsay Tribunal and the Organ Retention Inquiry.
